Rent vs Buy in Public Administration

Tucked already campaigning, there are many requests that come to the government and many are the promises they keep.

One, if we all had awareness of savings that could be, could be the replacement expenditure direct purchase of official cars by renting them.

According to a report by Arval leasing company BNP Paribas Group, state government would save 70 million euros and 65 municipalities if the bet for renting when disposing of their cars.

Today, governments have 5% of the total car fleet leasing operating in Spain, a third of their official cars. Regarding this figure, the central government accounts for 40% of the cars, while the regions have 31% and municipalities, the remaining 29%.

Given these data, if our rulers decantasen by renting, the car fleet costs would be reduced by 20%. Figure that fits the austerity plan currently set.
